    Beitbridge magistrate promoted to deputy Chief Magistrate

    BEITBRIDGE - The first Beitbridge Regional Magistrate Crispen James Mberewere has been promoted to become the deputy chief Magistrate.
    The promotion is with effect from 18 November, 2019.
    Judiciary Service Commission Acting Deputy Secretary Munamato Mutevedzi said “It was an employment issue and referred all questitions to the Judicial Service Commission.
    Before Mberewere was posted to Beitbridge in December last year, Beitbridge regional court was run as a circuit for Bulawayo and Gwanda where it would sit for one week per month and sometimes it could go for more than three months without such sittings.
    He was a regional Magistrate in Bulawayo since July 2018 before he was posted to Beitbridge in December last year to become the first resident regional magistrate.
    He started working as a judges’ clerk at the High Court in Harare in 1995 and was sworn in as a Magistrate in 1997 and he worked in Mutare.
    Mberewere did his primary education at Mutendebvure (Ascension) Primary School in Rusape, Makoni West from 1975 to 1978. Due to war disturbances; he went to St Mary’s (Shingai) primary from 1981 to 1982.
    In 1983 to 86, he went to Zengeza High 1 school and did his A level at CCOSSA College.
    He further went to the Judicial College of Zimbabwe for Magistrates Admission Certificate. In 2007, he graduated with BA (English and Communications) with Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU).
    Mberewere is also a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of South Africa.
    He served as a magistrate at Harare civil, Mbare, Chitungwiza, Masvingo, Gokwe, and Bulawayo.
    Beitbridge court staff bid him farewell and had a braai party for Mberewere on Friday after work.
