    Masvingo shines at NASSAF 2019


    MASVINGO - Masvingo has scooped bronze at this year’s edition of the National Annual Science Sport and Arts Festival (NASSAF) held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo over the weekend after clinching eight gold, 10 silver and 11 bronze medals.
    The hosts Bulawayo romped to first position after amassing 12 gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals bringing their tally to 26 medals and was seconded by Mash West which managed nine gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. Midlands came out last with two gold, five silver and two bronze medals.
    Masvingo scooped gold in agriculture, Olympiads Chemistry, karate, marimba, beading, brass band, ICT and special needs.
    Masvingo Province Education Officer for Physical Education and Culture Fredrick Matavikwa applauded the pupils for clinching a grand total of 29 medals and also thanked the Provincial Education Director (PED) Zedius Chitiga for encouraging pupils to pursue sport as a career.
    Rujeko karate trainer Sensei Charles Siverege said he is proud after his team managed to scoop bronze medals at the highly contested competition and added that the achievement was satisfactory.
