    1 360 students graduate at Bondolfi Teachers’ College

    MASVINGO RURAL – Some 1 360 students graduated from Bondolfi Teachers’ College at the institution’s 36th certification and 56th graduation and prize giving day ceremony last week.
    The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development Professor Amon Murwira was the guest of honour.
    The theme for the event was; Transforming Teacher Education For Industrialisation and Sustainability Through Knowledge, Skills and Services.
    Other guests were the Minister of State for Masvingo provincial Affairs, Ezra Chadzamira, Senator Josiah Hungwe,  Bishop Michael Dixon Bhasera of Masvingo Catholic Diocese, Fr Walter Nyatsanza Vicar General  for Masvingo Catholic Diocese, Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Zimbabwe, Professor Rosemary Moyana and many others.
    Professor Murwirwa said a nation is built by the brains and hands of its people. The rest can only help.
    “One of the principles of my statement today is that empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that’’ he said quoting Norman Vincent Peale.
    Bondolfi Principal, Kizito Chitsama said of the 1360 graduates 375 were male and 985 female. There were 416 distinctions.
    Rebecca Muchengeti was the toast of the graduation after she got four distinctions and walked away with the best overall student award. Memory Machingauta also won several awards.
