    Masvingo mourns Una Una defender Tamly

    MASVINGO-Masvingo football community has been plunged into mourning following the untimely death of Masvingo United defender Tamuka Mandizvidza who died on Sunday morning after a short battle with lung infection.
    He was 29.
     Mandizvidza, commonly known as Tamly in football circles died at Masvingo Provincial Hospital where he also had his first breath in 1990. He had been admitted for a week prior to his untimely death.
    Tamly’s sister Eunice Mandizvidza Masunda confirmed the sad news to The Mirror and added that he was buried at Mangwandi cemetery on Tuesday.
    “Tamly died on Sunday, a week after he was admitted over lung infection problems and he was buried at Mangwandi cemetery on Tuesday,” said Eunice.
    Tamly was one of Masvingo’s soccer aces having played for Una Una and Masvingo Pirates; the defender also played for Pamushana where he won several national accolades before playing for National University of Science and Technology (NUST) where he pursued a degree in …
    Una Una spokesperson Godfrey Mutimba said the club has been dealt a big blow as Tamly was an integral part of the team and a role model to young budding talents.
