    Shurugwi women arrested for bypassing Zesa cables


    SHURUGWI - Two Shurugwi women Girly Mandivamba and Winner Mhandu from Sebanga Extension have appeared in court and pleaded guilty to bypassing the Zesa electricity power metre in a bid to avoid paying for the power.
    The matter is before Magistrate Sithabile Zungula and the culprits have been doing it since and they accumulated a debt of RTGS$1 272.
    Zesa is being represented by Tarisai Madhumo an assistant loss controller.
    It is the Sate case that May 12 2019, the complainant received an anonymous call to the effect that the accused persons had illegally connected their house to power.
    From November 23, 2016 to May 12 2019 the two women had been bypassing power.
