MUSINA – Hello Paisa, a South African-based company has created a mobile android application, Malaicha.com which allows Zimbabweans working in that country to buy basic goods for their relatives and loved ones back home.
The goods are obtained from Zimbabwean shops in less than 24 hours.
The application went online on April 18, 2019 and is available on Google Play Store.
In a television interview with SA’s eNCA news recently, Hello Paisa Executive Head Sayjil Magan said Malaicha.com is a three step application where buyers create a recipient, order the goods, pay for them and the goods are delivered or collected in 24 hours.
“Malaicha.com is a free application available on Google Play Store which Zimbabweans in SA can use to buy basic goods for people back home. One scans the available products and pays for them. The goods are obtainable from selected shops in Zimbabwe which we supply to ensure availability of the goods.
“The deliveries do not have extra costs, we noticed that we are serving youths and the elderly who may not be able to travel to our collection points and thus we began the free deliveries,” said Magan.
Malaicha.com is however, currently only available for same day collection and free delivery in Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare, Gweru and Masvingo.
The goods are ordered in Rands with a 2litre bottle of cooking oil at R36.99, 10kg mealie meal at R35 and 2kg sugar at R25, Harpic toilet cleaner R21, 2kg Maq washing powder R49, 2litre Mazoe orange crush R35, Sta Soft fabric softener R38.99, Colgate toothpaste R10, Protex bathing soap R11.99.
Magan also said that after downloading the app, one uploads a profile, does identity check and takes a selfie for verification which will also be used as the profile picture
