    Dr Mubwandarikwa laid to rest

    CHIVHU - Doctor Kumbirai Mubwandarikwa, who treated prominent liberation war fighters including former President Robert Mugabe in colonial jails was laid to rest on Wednesday last week at his farm in Hampshire, Chivhu.
    Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered to pay their last respects with the service being led by the Reformed Church of Zimbabwe and many people cherished the love he had for everyone.
    A family spokesperson, Calistos Mubwandarikwa described the late as a man of boundless love and kindness and a devout Christian who was a member of the Reformed Church of Zimbabwe (RCZ).
    “He was a good man and to me he was a friend but only to discover on his funeral that he was a friend to many,” he said.
    Mubwandarikwa was born in Zvavahera in Gutu. He went to Zvavahera Primary School from 1950 to 1957, Zimuto Secondary School from 1958 to 1959 and the University of Rhodesia and Nyasaland to study medicine thereafter.
    He is survived by his wife Ndakarwira Magodora, four children Stella, Tariro, Joram, and Steven and seven grandchildren.
