    HAPPINESS MACHAYA

MASVINGO-Mazambara High School was the toast at the Nzwimabwe Poetry Slam with its students clinching the top three posts in a tightly contested slam held at Charles Austin Theatre on Saturday.
Lisa Sibanda (16), a form four pupil and 2016 StarBrite national finalist came first with Thabani Makamure (19) on second position; Vimbainashe Dhewa (13) came third and they received cash prizes and ambassadorship certificates courtesy of Civil Society and Joint Churches Forum (CSCFJ) which sponsored the slam.
A total of 15 aspiring poets participated in the three round slam and received CSCFJ branded T-shirts.
Poetry Slam is a competition in which poets of all ages perform spoken word poetry and are judged by a panel of 5 judges. Poets with the lowest marks are dropped out.
Sibanda said the win will go a long way in boosting her career as she is improving with every competition.
CSCFJ National Coordinator Abigail Mupambi said the event was premised on preaching the gospel of peace and discussing topical issues as partisan politics and educating youths on drug and sex abstinence.
The slam ran under the theme Peace and Development.
