    DJ Chihelele appointed NBSZ Masvingo brand ambassador


    MASVINGO – Popular radio presenter with local station Hevoi FM, Mary Candice Chihelele Masimba has been appointed the National Blood Service Zimbabwe Masvingo branch brand ambassador.
    Chihelele as she is popularly known by her legion of followers on radio replaces prolific poet and international MC, Tatenda Dhege Chinoda who has since relocated to Harare, the planning and recruitment officer Michael Chakoma told The Mirror.
    “We have appointed Chihelele as the branch brand ambassador after considering her popularity and the fact that she is a blood donor as well who is going to have a big impact on the community. She has so many followers and that will go a long way in encouraging people to give blood,” said Chakoma.
    Chihelele welcomed the appointment and promised to work very hard and recruit more people to donate blood now that it given for free in public hospitals the demand will be high as well.
     “I feel honoured and privileged to be appointed to work for such a prestigious organisation, and this is my own small way of giving back to the community”, said Chihelele.
     The appointment is with effect from June this year and each NBSZ branch has its brand ambassador.
    She said she will employ a number of strategies to lure people to donate blood including brand activations at schools and colleges in the Province, social media and radio campaigns.
    “My vision is to enhance brand visibility by recruiting youths to donate blood through the social media, activities at schools and varsities in the Province,” added Chihelele.
    Chihelele has been donating blood since 2006 when she was in high school at Regina Mundi in Gweru.
    She hails from Drifontein in Chirumanzi and went to Cecil John Rhodes for her primary education.
    She joined Hevoi FM in 2017.
