TRIANGLE - A 40-year old teacher from Masangula Secondary school in Triangle is facing charges of raping a 17 year old student.
Patrick Zinyakatira is pleading not guilty.
The State led by David Tafangenyasha alleges that on May 24 2019, the accused followed the complainant in Masangula bush where he grabbed and dragged her hand.
He allegedly removed the girl’s uniform, tore a skin tight and pants before having sexual intercourse with the complainant. He prevented the girl from screaming by covering her mouth with his palm, said the State.
The State further says that the accused wiped the girl’s womanhood with her torn panty before begging her to go with him to his homestead. The complainant refused.
Zinyakatira went home and came back to the bush where he found the girl still there and allegedly raped her again.
The following day the accused saw the complainant and allegedly bought her food and a bucket.
The matter came to light when the complainant reported the rape to her grandmother who then reported the case to Mpapa police.
The accused is remanded in custody to June 11 2019.
