    Neshuro High pupil steals R6 550


    MWENEZI - A pupil at Neshuro High School in Mwenezi has been sentenced to 10 months in jail after he broke into a house and stole R6 550, US$250 and buddie airtime worth RTGS $150.
    The incident  happened on April 19, 2019 at Neshuro Village when the 17-year-old boy went to Ndewera Nyengesa‘s homestead where he broke a window and entered the bedroom.
    Investigations were made leading to the arrest of the boy.
    Of the stolen money, US$209, R2810, RTGS$245,70 and buddie airtime worth RTGS$150 were recovered.
    The accused pleaded guilty when he appeared before Mwenezi Resident Magistrate Honesty Musiiwa who slapped him with 10 months in prison set aside on condition that he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years.
    “I do not know what came over me, I stole the money and used a certain amount to buy clothes and a cell phone,” said the accused.
    The Magistrate warned him that he deserved a jail sentence and was only saved by his age.
