    Makaha FC fined 5 000 for gun discharge

    MASVINGO-Makaha FC has been fined RTGS 5 000 by ZIFA Eastern Region after one of its patrons discharged a firearm after a humbling 3-0 thumping at the hands of Masvingo United at Mucheke Stadium two weeks back.
    The club was fined on Sunday and has been given till May 25, 2019 to pay RTGS 1000 as 4 000 has been suspended on condition that the club or its supporters do not engage in violent behavior for the reminder of the season.
    ZIFA Eastern Region secretary Wisdom Simba said the club was found in breach of Article 13 (i) of the ZIFA Constitution as well as rule 4 sub regulation 4.5 of ZIFA Eastern Region Rules and Regulations which advocate for discipline among fans.
    “Makaha FC was found to have breached Article 13 (i) of the ZIFA Constitution as well as Rule 4 sub regulation 4.5 of the ZIFA Eastern Region Rules and regulations which states that, 'in the event of any breach of peace occurring or any disturbances occurring within and among spectators, this shall be subject to sanctions by the league.,” said Simba.
    The decision was reached after the Provincial committee concurred that a Makaha FC patron, identified as Dylan caused chaos when he discharged his firearm and assaulted Cleopatra Matanhire, a ZIFA official in the wake of their defeat.
    Meanwhile Una Una has continued its fine run, humbling Ruwa 3-0 at Mucheke Stadium to extent its winning streak to 3 games under the guidance of Emmanuel Mutoda who took the reigns from Shadreck Maguraushe.
