    Human bones in Kwekwe church

    GWERU – The trial of a Masonic Church member in Kwekwe who was allegedly found with human bones in the church started this week.
    The bones were found in the church in 2016 after Police received a tip-off that Ian Annandale was keeping smuggled goods in the Masonic Temple of the MacDonalds in Newton, Kwekwe.
    Police searched the church but found no smuggled goods but they allegedly found human bones. This led to the arrest of Marthinus Pretorius the Kwekwe Masonic Temple church leader.
    Pretorius faces charges of violating a corpse after a human skeleton was found in the church.
    It is the State case that sometime in 2016, Police received a tip-off from an anonymous caller that Ian Annandale was keeping smuggled goods at Masonic Temple of the MacDonalds in Newton,Kwekwe.
    The court heard that the remains were taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) where they were examined by pathologists who confirmed that they were human remains.
    Pretorius appeared before Magistrate Phineas Murandu who remanded him to May, 7 for trial.
