Buhera teacher in $4 000 car deal fraud

    NYASHA MUSAMBASI

BUHERA – A teacher from Matsakanure Primary School in Muzokomba, Buhera was arrested for allegedly duping a Muzokomba resident in a car deal.
Rumbidzai Kamba (26) tasked Tichakundanyika Mutikani (36) to buy her a car in Beitbridge after the latter had said that Zimra was conducting an auction. There was no such auction and Mutikani kept changing his statements.
It is the State case that Mutikani then found an individual in Beitbridge who was selling a Toyota Noah for $3 200 but lied to Kamba that the price was $4 415.
Kamba sent him the money but still Mutikani did not pay the full amount of $3 200 to the owner. He only paid $2 550 thereby prejudicing Kamba of $1 865. Kamba could not get the registration book of the car from the owner because the $3 200 had not been paid.
This led to the arrest of the accused person and he is yet to be brought before the court.
