GWERU – A barber in Ascot, Gweru has become a familiar face at the Gweru Magistrates Court after he has been entered on three cases of rape of minors and two cases of molesting  minors.
Goodluck Mbewe (56) of number 428 Sixpence Road, Ascot, Gweru has been cleared on one case of raping a 16-year-old and is facing four more sexual abuse cases involving minors.
In the first case that he was involved in, Mbewe escaped rape conviction after the complainant told the court that she agreed to have sexual intercourse with the accused after the accused gave her $1.
Mbewe lured the 16-year-old girl into his room after she asked for a $1 from him.
Two other rape cases are still pending with the courts the first one under CRB 344/19 and the second case CRB566/19 and they both involve minors.
In one of the cases Mbewe allegedly saw a minor walking near his barber shop and called her in on the pretext that he wanted to send her somewhere. The accused allegedly pushed the minor into his shop where he trapped and raped her.
Mbewe also has two cases of molesting children referenced CR29/07/19 and CR22/02/19 which are still pending.
