    Prominent Beatrice businesswoman convicted of assault


    BEATRICE - Phillipa Kwadzanai, a prominent businesswoman in Beatrice was last week warned, cautioned and discharged  by the court  for assaulting a   man who had trespassed in her premises.
    Kwadzanai, who runs bottle stores in Beatrice pleaded guilty to assaulting Vengai Musoni when she appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Vhitorini on Wednesday last week.  
    Kwadzanai was co-charged with her daughter Tshepo and a security guard Chance Muumba for assaulting Musoni.
    Kwadzanai pleaded guilty to the offence but her daughter Tshepo and Muumba denied the charges.
    Their trial is still going on.
    It is the state’ s case that on February 13  2019,  Kwadzanai together with her daughter and   security guard assaulted Mushipe who had passed by her premises during  the early hours of the  morning.
    Trinity Nyandebvu appeared for the State.
