    Mwenezi man stabbed to death as he tries to stop a fight

     Murder suspect; Emmson Dube.

    MWENEZI - Kenmore Nhevera from Maranda area in Mwenezi was killed in cold blood last week on Monday when he tried to stop a fight between two men at Mlelezi Market Place.
    The suspect in the murder, Emmson Dube who comes from Gwanda was arrested by Police and has since appeared at Mwenezi Court charged with murder.
    The incident happened a few days after Police officers who were at Maranda police base were left nursing injuries inflicted to them by unknown thugs who fled from the scene.
    The body of the deceased was taken to Mlelezi clinic where it was transferred to Masvingo Provincial Hospital for postmortem. Nhevera was buried at his rural home in Maranda on Monday.
    Dube who resides in Tshanyaugwe C- Marubhi was identified by witnesses as the suspect in the murder of Nhevera who came from Mapuranga Village under Chief Maranda. Other boys allegedly involved in the violence fled the scene.
    The State said the alleged murder happened at around 7pm at Mapuranga Village under Chief Maranda.
    The accused was at Mlelezi Market place when he saw his young brother Momeli Dube and Muchicho Claudius fighting. He walked towards the scene upon seeing that Nhevera had intervened trying to stop the fight.
    Dube allegedly produced a silver kitchen knife and stabbed Nhevera once on the right side of the chest and once on the right arm. A few minutes later, Nhevera collapsed and died at the scene. The knife was found at the scene of the crime.
    The accused was remanded in custody and his case will be heard at the High Court.
