    Hebron High deputy head in court for ‘raping’ Form 6 student

    MASVINGO - Noel Chirongo (41), a deputy head at Hebron High School in Mwenezi has been dragged to court on allegations of raping a Form 6 student who is his history pupil.
    Chirongo is said to be a devout member of Zion Christian Church.
    He is charged with rape as stipulated in section 65(a) of the Criminal Law “Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9: 23.
    The matter was brought before Chiredzi Magistrate Judith Zuyu on Friday last week and it will continue tomorrow (March 22, 2019)
    The State alleges that on February 5, 2019 the accused waylaid the complainant at around 830pm outside the school premises as she was coming from study. He allegedly grabbed her by the waist before forcing her to lie down facing up.
    The State says that Chirongo pulled up the skirt of the accused and although she tried to scream, the accused closed her mouth before having sexual intercourse with her.
    Chirongo allegedly told the complainant to bath and never to divulge any information to anyone.
    The matter came to light on  February 7, 2019 when the mother reported the case to the Police leading to Chirongo’s arrest.
    The complainant’s father testified in court .
