    Pamushana tops A level results

    MASVINGO - The Reformed Church-run Pamushana High School has the best Zimsec A Level results for 2018 with an 86,47% pass rate.
    Of the 133 candidates who sat for A levels at Pamushana, 115 managed to pass with nine points or better and 71 of those had over 15 points.
    Roman Catholic-run high schools continued to dominate the results sheet with four of the church’s schools taking their positions in the top 10. Three are in the top five.
    Zaka-based St Anthony was in the second place after Pamushana while academic powerhouse Gokomere, Mukaro and Silveira High took third, 5th and 7th position respectively, making the Catholic Church the citadel of secondary school education in Masvingo Province.
    Mutendi High made drastic improvement this year by not only entering the top 10 but by finding its position at an enviable number 4.
    Ndarama which had 104 candidates sitting for the exams continued to top the urban schools category and is the only one in the top 10 with 65 students getting nine points or better. However, Ndarama which was voted Masvingo’s best school for 2018 slightly dropped from its position last year and landed at number 9. Ndarama is also the only day school in the top 12.
    At number six is Chibi High, another RCZ –run school. Chibi got 66 students with nine points or better and its pass rate stood at 94,52%. Hippo Valley came on the eighth position with 65 candidates getting 9 points or better.
    Anchoring the top 10 is Dewure High with 62 students who got nine points or better.
