    Nerupiri Primary head retires

    Tarirai Mutambasere.


    GUTU –
    Tarirai Mutambasere the head of Nerupiri Primary in Gutu has called it a day.
    Mutambasere retired on January 1, 2019 at the age of 65. Mutambasere is the son of Mr and Mrs Mutambasere of Mutambasere Village under Chief Munyikwa in Gutu.
    Mutambasere said, “iIenjoyed being a headmaster I did not encounter any problem. The problem i encountered was shortage of accomodation but as a headmaster I managed to costruct both teachers and classrooms. He attended Mutombwa and Munyikwa Primary Schools before proceeding to Gutu Mission for his secondary education for form one to two. He also proceeded to ‘O’ and ‘A’ level through private education.
    Mutambasere then went to Mogenster Teacher’s College from 1972 to 1974 where he did his T3 Teacher Training and he was deployed to Bedshan Primary in Matebeleland south. for three years.
    After that he taught at Chadzembwa and Mushaike Primary in Gutu.
    He taught at Rupati Primary  in Gutu.
    Mutambasere was transferred to Rupiri as a head from 1985 to 1996.
    He was also a substantive head at Chivhumba Primary in Mwenezi and from there he went to Dewe Primary in Chivi. He was then transferred to Nerupiri primary in Gutu.
    Mutambasere was not only a head, he was also an activist in the education sector.
    He was the chairman at Zimbabwe Teachers Association (ZIMTA) at branch level in Gutu from 1985 to 1996.
