    Mbanje field: Gweru farmer arrested with 135 plants

    A Gweru Farmer Francis Ngwenya (59) of Ruby Area has been arrested after being found with 135 plants of mbanje at his plot.
    Midlands Province Police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko confirmed the incident and said Ngwenya’s farm had about 135 plants of Mbanje of an average height of 3 metres.
    “On February 5, 2019 Police received a tip off that Ngwenya had planted mbanje at his farm and we acted on the information leading to the arrest of the suspect,” said Goko
    “We want to send a strong warning to members of the public that they should not involve themselves in criminal activities such as these because the law will catch up with them. We also want to thank the public for supplying information on criminal activities in their areas,” said Goko.
