    Masvingo tennis player off to Egypt

    HARARE- Thompson Thomu (13), a Form 2 pupil at Prince Edward High School in Harare hailing from Masvingo’s Eastvale suburb last week flew to Egypt where he is participating at the International Tennis Federation/ Confederation of African Tennis team event.
    The event, running from February 14 to February 24, 2019 in Cairo, Egypt is an U14 competition featuring pupils from across the continent including Egypt, Madagascar, Algeria, South Africa and Niger.
    Thomu flew out together with four other players, Joseph Black, Marko Milosavljevic, Mangesi Sibanda and Sasha Chimedza.
    Thomu’s father, Munyaradzi Thomu confirmed the development to The Mirror.
    “I accompanied my son to the airport on Friday last week as he was taking off to Egypt for the tournament. We hope he will raise our flag high,” said Thomu.
