    Chivhu teenager guilty of 20 counts of theft

    CHIVHU - An 18-year-old man was on Monday convicted on his own plea of guilty on  20 counts of unlawful entry at the Chivhu Magistrates Courts
    Panashe Mashiri pleaded guilty of breaking into St Francis of Assisi High School and into a bottle Store in Madondo when he appeared before Chivhu Magistrate Henry Sande.
    On 19 counts, Mashiri of Chirinda Village in Chief Chivese’s area together with his suspected accomplices Taurayi Mukwati and Prosper Zunzanyika who are still at large broke  into  St Francis of Assisi High School girls hostels and stole pupils’ shoes and other valuables.
    The trio cut a security fence at the school to gain entry.They used an iron rod to break the screen door to enter into the girls hostels while the pupils were on study in the classrooms.
    They took the stolen property worth $345 to a homestead in the village.
    On another case, Mashiri together with his suspected accomplices broke into Chinyudze Bottle Store in  Madondo  and stole a television set and other properties worth $5345.
    They broke the window and burglar bars to gain entry into the bottle store.
    Property worth $4 459 was recovered.
    Police investigation led to the arrest of Mashiri and some properties were recovered.
    Tafara Mboho prosecuted.
