    Chivhu cross border trader jailed over stayaway

    CHIVHU- Lines Matanga (33), a Chivhu cross-border trader who protested in the recent three-day stay away was last week jailed for five years at the Chivhu Courts  for obstructing free  movement of  traffic.
    Matanga, a member of the MDC Alliance party was being co-charged with Kelvin Nyambiswa who was earlier convicted on his own plea of guilty for the same offence.
    Matanga will serve an effective four and half years after Chivhu Resident Magistrate Ngoni Nduna suspended six months on condition that she does not commit the same offence within five years.
    In her defence, through her lawyer Tafara Nsingo of Nsingo and Associates, Matanga pleaded with the court to treat with caution the evidence which was presented by Nyambiswa, whom she says has  a mental challenge.
    Tafara Mboho appeared for the state.
