    5 Roman Catholic schools in top 10

    MASVINGO – Five Roman-Catholic schools are among Masvingo Province’s 2018 top 10 Zimsec O level institutions with pass rates of between 92,82% and 96,20%.
    Roman Catholic-run Silveira High which is headed by Stanley Mutsambiwa shot up the table with a 96, 20% while two other schools from the same church are in the top five. These are Serima at number three with 95,62% and Gokomere at number four with 95,33%.
    At number two is RCZ-run Zimuto High with a pass rate of 95,88 and at number five is Pamushana with a pass rate of 94,79.
    Two Roman Catholic run institutions, Mukaro High and St Anthony Msiso are on position six and seven respectively with pass rates of 94,48 and 92,82 respectively. St Anthony which dominated the top five ranks for the past six years slid to a new low position.
    On number eight is Lundi with 92,5%; number nine is Chivi; one of the two RCZ run schools in the top 10 with 91,23%. The top 10 is anchored by Mutendi High which has 88,36%.
    All top 12 schools are boarding with Gutu High standing at number 11 with 82,35% and Dewure High is on number 12 with 81,92%. Ndarama High continued to dominate non boarding and urban schools with a sterling 81,55%. The school stand at position 13. Mashoko showed tremendous improvement by getting 77,78% and position 14.
    There are 11 schools in the province that got 0% pass rate with two of them in Bikita, three in Chiredzi, three in Chivi, two in Gutu and one in Mwenezi.
