ZVISHAVANE - A Midlands State University (MSU) student in the faculty of Social Sciences has released a gospel song titled ‘Journey Mercies’ which is a prayer for safety and love during the festive season.
Nathan Makombe (24) released the scorcher which features Temba TC, Donvert Snippert and Jacob Chibaya on 14 December 2018 and it had 1650 views on YouTube by the time of going to Press.
Speaking to The Mirror, Makombe said he penned the song after a chain of accidents claimed over 50 lives across the country in less than three weeks.
“Over 50 loved ones perished in road carnages last month, this became the foundation for the song. The song is a prayer for guidance, love and safety this festive season,” he said
The song comes a few months after he released yet another hit titled From Nobody to somebody in which he talks about the beauty of God’s grace for He is favouring him for his endeavors such that he is now recognised by the society.
This prolific gospel singer has one album to his name titled ‘Moving Beyond the Obvious’ which was released in 2017
Makombe’s music focuses on grace, reconciliation and thanks giving. He has worked with artists like Evangelist Samuel Chiwewe, Praise Goveya and Anesu Saini
“My parents are both singers and they inspired me to be an artist. I began singing at Sunday school when I was five years old and I have continued working on my career, my songs are receiving positive feedback on YouTube,” said Makombe.
