    BEITBRIDGE -
Zion Christian Church (ZCC) leader Nehemiah Mutendi has led church youths in planting 10 palm trees in Justicia street in the border town of Beitbridge.
"We have a program where we are planting trees in every area where our church operates. Trees give us shelter and shed and we make furniture out of it. God should bless the Ministry of Forestry which encourages planting of trees and discourages deforestration. Planting of trees is even encouraged in the Bible. This will beautify our small town of Beitbridge," said Bishop Mutendi.
Bishop Mutendi also participated in the planting of trees in Ngundu and will take the campaign across the border to South Africa.
About 50 ZCC youths were led and participated in the planting of the palm trees. Bishop Mutendi said this year the church constructed three new schools in the country.
Beitbridge Municipality Administrator Sathulani Moyo expressed his appreciation to ZCC for planting trees in Beitbridge.
