    Beitbridge Police chief gets bigger post

    BEITBRIDGE -
    The Officer Commanding Beitbridge District, Chief Superintendent Francis Phiri has been transferred on promotion to Mat North where he is now the Assistant Commissioner responsible for Operations.
    The move is with effect from Monday this week.
    Police spokesperson Chief Superitendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the developments in a telephone interview with The Mirror.
    Phiri had served more than 20 years. Superintendent for Nekati is the acting Officer Commanding Beitbridge District.
    The promotion was announced on December 7, 2018 by the Police Commissioner General Godwin Matanga and conferment of badges of rank was done on December 11.
    Before he was posted to Beitbridge in 2016, Phiri was the Officer Commanding Masvingo West.  He worked for three years in Beitbridge.
