    Seke Teacher’s college student scoops 16 medals

    MASVINGO- Ruvimbo Gondongwe (28), a student at Seke Teacher’s college has won a record-breaking number of 16 medals in various sporting disciplines between 2017 and 2018.
    Gondongwe has won a total of 4 gold medals, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals during her stay at Seke Teacher’s college. She has represented the college quite well at Zimbabwe Teacher’s College Sports Association (ZITCOSA) and Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union (ZITISU) games.
    She has also won medals from primary and secondary education and she once represented Zimbabwe in athletics in Zambia in 2014 when she was still in High school.
    Gondongwe does various sporting activities and these include athletics, hockey, volleyball, darts, swimming and tennis.
    Gondongwe has recently finished her studies at Seke Teacher’s College and is awaiting graduation.
    “To me sport is life. One can make a living out of it and it also helps keep the body fit”, said Gondongwe.
    Gondongwe encouraged parents to let their children venture into sports as in order to make a living. She also encouraged those interested in sport to be committed, devoted and disciplined like any other profession.
    She hails from Zimuto under Chief Maraire and is the third born in a family of five.
    She went to Banket Primary and St Marks Secondary in Mondoro.
