    Gweru Diocese’s Sr Rosa celebrates 25 years

    MWENEZI – Sr Rosa Moyo of Gweru Diocese has celebrated 25 years that she has been a nun.
    A function to celebrate the silver jubilee was held at Driefontein Mission near Mvuma on 21 April 2018 and it included five other sisters; namely Petronella Konzani, Evelyn Mutuzu, Helena Rairo, Emerenciana Mbuvuyu and Cecilia Zvavada who also attained 25 years in the sister-hood.
    After the celebrations, Sr Rosa hosted a thanks giving mass at her parents’ home at Chipwanya Village under Chief Mawarire in Matibi.
    Bishop Michael Dixon Bhasera who is the head of Masvingo Diocese and currently the Apostolic Administrator for Gweru Diocese was the guest of honour at the function.
    Speaking at the function, the Vicar General for Gweru, Father Augustine Chirikadzi described Sister Rosa as a humble, down to earth and hardworking person. He said that Sr Rosa is a Christian who always puts others first.
    Sr Rosa was born at Matibi Hospital being the only child of Elisha and Benedicter Moyo of Matibi. She attended her primary and secondary education at Msaverima Primary and Mshonganeburi High School.
    She said that she was inspired to join the calling by her uncle Francis Chigumbu who always preached about Holy sacraments. She chose to serve Christ as it was in her calling. Some of her  family members were bitter about her choice because she was the only child of her parents so they expected more from her.
    She made her vows as an SJI Sister at Driefontein Mission in1993 and went for further studies at  Regina Mundi High. She undertook Bookkeeping studies in Bulawayo.
    From 1999 to 2011 she worked as an assistant Bursar at different Catholic institutions. She us currently based at Ruvadiki Convent and works at the Bishop’s House in Gweru.
    Sr Rosa thanked Bishop Michael Bhasera, and the whole congregation for putting her in their prayers.
    Masvingo Vicar General Fr Walter Nyatsanza and the Vicar General for Gweru Diocese Fr Augustine Chirikadzi also graced the occasion. The other priests who were at the occasion were the Priest in Charge for St Ambrose Matibi Mission Fr Maxwell Mabvuure, Fr Solomon Mbengo, Fr Cuthbert Gudo from Silveira Mission, Fr James Munyanyi from Berejena, SJI Sisters and people from different walks of life.
