    Beatrice fuel dealer robbed at gunpoint

    BEATRICE – An illegal fuel dealer was robbed of 20 litres of fuel and a nokia phone worth $100 at the 78km peg near Beatrice on Friday.
    An authoritative source said Dudzai Gambiza (40) who resides in Beatrice Location in Beatrice was robbed at gunpoint by men who were in military fatigue.
    Gambiza who was assaulted and sustained injuries has since been discharged from Beatrice Hospital. The suspects are still at large.
    Mashonaland East police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza could not be reached for comment.
    The source said that on November 23, 2018 in the morning, Gambiza was sitting in his Nissan Atlas motor vehicle at the 78-kilometre peg along the Harare-Masvingo Highway when he was approached by seven men, two of them dressed in army uniform.
    One of them produced a pistol and pointed it at him and demanded cash and fuel. He was assaulted with sticks and empty beer bottles after he said that he didn’t have any cash or fuel.
    They then robbed him of 20litres of diesel and a Nokia cell phone worth about $100 before driving off in their Toyota Wish.
