    Zvishavane school pupil in court for car theft

    ZVISHAVANE - A 17-year- old Form 3 pupil from George Chipadza Secondary School in Zvishavane will receive four strokes after he and an accomplice were found guilty of stealing a car and later getting involved in an accident.
    The juvenile and Lee Dube (22) appeared before Zvishavane Resident Magistrate Archie Wochiunga.
    Tinashe  Maponde representing the State said that on September 20, 2018 at around  2am,  Dube and  the juvenile were drinking  beer at  Mare Nite Club when the  complainant  Joseph  Zhou (20) arrived driving a Toyota Funcargo.
    The accused and Dube approached the complainant and accused him of hitting him on the leg with his Funcargo.
    He then grabbed the complainant by the neck, pulled him out of the car and pushed him to the ground. He struck him several times with hands on the face and with a bread bin.
    The juveniles jumped into the car and drove off to town where the two were involved in an accident when the vehicle rolled several times thereby damaging it beyond repair.
    Both Dube and the juvenile were arrested on the same day.
    Dube was sentenced to six years in prison and two years were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
    The juvenile got four strokes.
