GWANDA - The International Rural Women’s Day held at Sitezi Secondary School grounds     in Sitezi recently saw young women and school children being introduced to cricket.
The day was organized by the Women Development Association of Zimbabwe (WODAZ)
Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket managed by Samu Nkiwane, together with the coach Trevor Phiri and three players took the stage to encourage, educate and train the Sitezi community on how to play cricket and the benefits of the sport. Two sets of cricket equipment were presented to the community.
“One can earn a living through cricket, as I’m talking right now cricket is open at national level as the national team needs players, ballers, batsmen, scorers and umpires. Cricket can make you travel places and associate with different people” said Samu Nkiwane the Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket manager.
