    Youth in clean up campaign

MASVINGO- One of the oldest churches in the country, the Seventh Day Adventist’s youth have embarked on a clean up campaign in Masvingo CBD.
The clean up campaign which was held last Sunday was part of the church’s Effort Evangelism at Zimuto Camp under the theme ‘Hope for Today and Beyond Tomorrow’ which began on November 11 and ends on November 24.
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness hence we have decided to contribute to the cleanliness of our City in our small way by embarking in this clean up exercise during the two week Effort Evangelism that we are holding at Zimuto Camp from 6-7pm everyday. We are inviting everyone to attend and receive blessings through the word of God,” said Nyaradzo Nyikayazara the youth director.
The clean up exercise started at Landmark Bar along Hofmeyer Street to OK Masvingo Supermarket, from there they turned to Josiah Tongogara Avenue up to Robert Mugabe Way until they reached the Magistrates Court.
As they embarked on the clean up exercise the group was marching and singing while a hailer was used to invite people to attend the ongoing crusade at Zimuto Camp and others going on at Sisk Open Grounds, Mucheke F, Rujeko Grounds and Victoria Ranch.
“Since the Effort started the turn out has been very impressive as we managed to fill up a 200 seater tent while quite a sizeable number of people were baptised on Saturday last week, the strategy is working quite well as it has surpassed the 2017 one which was held at Eastvale,” said elder Innocent Mataruse who was part of the procession.
Masvingo Central District Pastor Simbarashe Gabi added that besides preaching the word of God which is now characterised by many doctrines with most of them confusing and leaving people hopeless, they have seen the need to give Biblical hope.
“We have also as Adventist Men Organisation (AMO) decided to invite Dr Noel Zulu who is going to talk about reproductive health for men and Sister Ruth Zulu will talk about living life without diseases which will be done before the main speaker Pastor Michael Musagwiza from Gutu,” said Pastor Gabi.
