SADZA - Sadza Primary School in Chikomba District has won a 15-seater Nissan Caravan minibus valued at $12 800 and an HP Laptop in a College Press draw held at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare recently.
The draw was for the College Press’ clients and it was done to mark the book company’s 50th Anniversary.
College Press head of sales and marketing department Sam Ndanga confirmed the prizes.
“Sadza Primary School won the biggest prize from the draw although a number of other schools walked away with various prizes. The draw was organised to give back to the community and reward our loyal customers,” said Ndanga.
Sadza school head, Gladys Chakoma said buying books from College Press had greatly rewarded them since  the minibus was the first motor vehicle the school acquired since its establishment. The draw started in October 2017 when schools and bookshops would purchase books worth at least $200 and get entry points. Stationery Gift, a bookshop in Bulawayo got a Honda Fit in the draw.Other schools were awarded textbooks and laptops.
Chikomba District Schools Inspector Emmanuel Kwenda said he was grateful to the publishing company for rewarding its clientele and added that this was a benefit to the whole district.
“The school got a minibus for purchasing textbooks. This vehicle would have taken the school ages to acquire. We applaud College Press for the socio-corporate responsibility which enhances learning amongst pupils,” he said.
Ndanga said the company would continue providing excellent services in publishing relevant textbooks in line with the recently introduced new curriculum.
College Press was established in 1968.
