    Chadzamira to officiate at Women Entrepreneurship Day

    Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Ezra Chadzamira.


    MASVINGO- The Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs, Ezra Chadzamira is scheduled to officiate at the 4th Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) to be commemorated on November 30 at Masvingo Poly.
    Prominent Masvingo marketer Angeline Mikiri confirmed this to The Mirror where she added that on the day over 50 women involved in various income generating projects will be conferred with certificates of competence.
    “WED ignites women leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion and advance communities worldwide
    “Minister Chadzamira will be our guest of honour on the day and he will also articulate Government position on women empowerment in as far as Tugwi Mukosi, Harare-Beitbridge Highway dualisation projects are concerned.
    “This is a day not to miss considering that women perform 66% of the world’s work and account for 85% of consumer purchases. It’s  a UN Day celebrated in over 144 countries and territories. The who is who of Masvingo women will also be in attendance including the likes of Sinikiwe Gwatidzo the GZU registrar and Vongai Makamure Nduna a communications expert,” said Mikiri.
    The WED held its first convention in 2014 and the likes Sarah Obama, Barack Obama’s grandmother received a philanthropic award on the day and in Zimbabwe it was launched in 2015 where Ecocash CEO Natalie Jabangwe, prominent human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa, tobacco merchant Rudo Boka and Securico founder Divine Ndlukula were in attendance.
    WED has trained women mainly in the rural areas on how to make soap, detergents, goat rearing across the whole country.
