    Shabanie Mine worker bashes wife over son’s paternity

    ZVISHAVANE -A 57 year old Shabanie Mine security guard appeared in court after he brutally bashed his wife on allegations that the son they have together was not his.
    Moses Runguza appeared before Resident Magistrate Archie Wochiunga facing charges of domestic violence.
    It is the State case that on Friday last week at around 9pm, the accused came home drunk and started shouting at his wife Mirika Runguza alleging that he was not the father to their son.
    He became violent and started hitting the complainant with fists on her cheeks and threatened to kill her using a machete that is when the complainant managed to escape and made a report to the Police.
    Runguza pleaded guilty and blamed his actions on beer.
    He was ordered to pay a fine of $40. He pleaded with the court to give him a more lenient fine since he only earned $70 and his only possession was a single bed.
    He will serve 15 days in prison if he fails to pay the fine by November 30, 2018.
