    Tongaat donates to the disadvantaged


    CHIREDZI – Tongaat Hullet has donated 1 000kgs of sugar to six institutions in Chiredzi which include  Chiredzi Hospital, Chiredzi Prisons and children`s homes as part of their corporate social responsibility.
    Speaking during the handover ceremony which was held at Hippo Valley Country Club on Monday, Tongaat Hullet Triangle human resources and operations manager, Kempton Gwamura said the donations to the less priviledged has now become an annual event which they do after agriculture shows and trade fairs. 
    He said they will be giving away sugar to the needy which they use at shows and trade fairs and they do it in Chiredzi, Masvingo, Harare and Bulawayo.
    "We are doing this as part of our corporate – social responsibility and it is now an annual event. The sugar is used by Zimbabwe Sugar Sales (ZSS) in various displays during shows and trade fairs. Tongaat exhibits at Chiredzi and Masvingo Agric Shows as well as Harare and Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) and we donate that sugar after every event in those towns, so we will do the same in Masvingo" said Gwamura.
    Chiredzi Hospital received 250kgs, Chiredzi Prison 250kgs, Chambuta Children`s Home 150kgs, Chiredzi Christian Children`s Village 125kgs, Rudo Isimba Old People`s Home 100kgs and Chingele Children`s Home received 175kgs.
