Suspected skeleton of missing Gweru farm worker found

GWERU – A burnt skeleton suspected to be the remains of Chaonekwa Ncube (34), a farm worker who was allegedly kidnapped and disappeared two months ago was found 20km from Gweru along Matobo Road on Friday
Ncube's brother-in-law Bradwell Machacha told The Mirror that the remains were found by a passer-by.
Former secretary general of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association Shadreck Makombe and six of his farm workers are being investigated over the kidnap.
Police spokesperson Ethel Mukwende said she was not aware of the matter.
Machacha said DNA tests were going to be conducted on the remains and Ncube's sister is now in Bulawayo where  DNA tests would be conducted on her and the remains.
"A human skeleton was found in a bush area along Matobo Road last week Friday and l received a call from Police saying that Ncube's sister should go to Bulawayo to have a DNA test.
"Today (Monday) Ncube's sister Netsai is in Bulawayo for the DNA tests and we will wait for the results but we believe the remains are our relative's," said Machacha
Allegations are that Ncube was kidnapped on suspicion that he stole Makombe's cattle.
Six suspects namely Prosper Sibanda, Zivanai Chimunda, kelvin Sibanda, Shame Nyambuya, Banu Mufakwadziya and Chamunorwa Phiri have appeared in court over the kidnap of Ncube.
Two of Makombe's farm workers who have not been seen since the disappearance of Ncube are on the Police's list of suspects. They are said to have disappeared together with Makombe but Makombe later returned and has since been interviewed by the Police.
