    Shurugwi man bashed while relieving in a bush


    SHURUGWI – It was the worst timing for a Shurugwi man.
    Brighton Matsvimbo (45) has appeared in court for attacking a man who was squatting and reliving himself in a bush by the roadside.
    Matsvimbo kicked Edmore Wurayayi (34) of Outward Bound, Shurugwi three times in the face after he panicked and thought the latter was a robber laying ambush by the roadside.
    The incident happened by the road at Ruchanyu, Shurugwi on September 9 2018.
    Wurayi was injured in the neck.
    Matsvimbo appeared before Shurugwi resident magistrate Sangster Tavengwa facing assault charges. He pleaded not guilty and said that that he saw a man in the bush and thought it was a robber hiding and decided to preempt him by attacking first.
    After the attack Wurayayi followed Matsvimbo at his homestead.
