ZVISHAVANE – Top Zvishavane businessman and Zanu Pf aspiring candidate for Zvishavane-Ngezi constituency, has donated $1000 to Midlands soccer giants and forth most supported club, Shabanie.
The cash strapped club has been operating without a sponsor since last year and has depended on hand-outs from well-wishers for its operations.
Shabani communications and liaison officer Wesly Weston confirmed the donation and said the amount will go a long way in assisting the boys who are working on a zero budget due to unavailability of sponsorship.
"The club has an open door policy and whosoever wants to help is welcome. With our current status this donation means a lot to the club," he said.
Speaking after the donation, Mahwite said he is making arrangements to provide a sponsorship deal to Shabani which will run until the end of the season.
"That's our duty as Zvishavane children to give back to our teams that bring entertainment to people as far as soccer is concerned. We are still in the process of negotiating for a sponsorship deal with Bavru-Bvaru", said Mahwite. sport news
