    Hwarare bounces back

CHIREDZI – Admore Hwarare has bounced back at the helm of Commercial Sugarcane Farmers Association of Zimbabwe (CSFAZ) in Chiredzi after being elected chairperson during elections held at the association`s offices on Tuesday.
The elections went ahead despite a last minute bid by some of the outgoing executive members to stop the proceedings through a High Court order which was ruled by members as being improperly served when a lawyer tried to serve it when proceedings were already underway.
Hwarare defeated former chairman Tawanda Mafurutu and his executive committee will comprise Julius Changamire as Vice Chair, Ralph Sakupwanya as Secretary General and will be deputised by Tawana Manyonga, Colin Togarepi (Treasurer) while Darlington Chiwa, Philip Toperesu, Susan Majatame, Tayananiswa Muzongomerwa and E. Nhendo are the new committee members.
In his acceptance speech Hwarare promised to engage Tongaat Hullet to end all disputes which affect the farmers. He said he will quickly arrange a meeting with the sugar giant`s top management to iron out issues of retention fee, payment of by-products as well as Division of Proceeds (DOP). He also promised to seek new world markets for sugar.
