CHIREDZI – Shineplus Housing Development Trust (SHDT) has handed over 348 medium density stands to its members in Chiredzi.
Most of the beneficiaries were teachers and they got allocated stands that ranged from 700 to 1200 square metres and the cost of the stands is $20 per square metre.
Shineplus Property and Customer Relations Manager Simon Mupindu said his organisation is moving with speed in the implementation of Zimasset which calls for housing for all. He said that they availed stands in Chiredzi under Phase 2 to those who joined the scheme and started paying subscriptions in 2012.
Roads have been opened in the stands and trenches for water are being dug out now.
"We are now in phase 2 of our housing project in Chiredzi and we have allocated stands to 348 people under this phase. The current beneficiaries joined the scheme in 2012 and 2013. These stands vary in size from 790 to 1200 square metres. We have opened a total of 14 000m of road network. The stands are self contained, they use sewer and soak away," said Mupindu.
