BIKITA – Johnson Madhuku, the head of the Reformed Church-run Pamushana High School has been elected into the Zanu PF Central Committee where he would be representing Bikita District.
Madhuku is also the president of the National Association of School Heads (NASH).
His election follows the purging from the party of Zanu PF members aligned to ousted Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa. All those who were elected at an interdistrict meeting held at Bikita RDC boardroom on Sunday are aligned to G40 which supports the ascendancy of the First Lady, Grace Mugabe to the post of Vice President.
Madhuku said he was elated at being elected unopposed into the Zanu PF Central Committee. He said he was not ambitious but is merely responding to requests being made by people who want to see him being in politics.
"I am happy at being elected into the Central Committee. People requested me to do so and l responded positively. I will do whatever the people will ask me to do so l don't know what my political future holds," said Madhuku.
