    Mbuya Dzoro dies


    MASVINGO -Mbuya Berita Masendu Dzoro nee Mukungunugwa has died, her son Kudakwashe Dzoro who is the Masvingo district assistant registrar has confirmed.
    He said Mbuya Dzoro succumbed to diabetes on November 9 last week at her homestead in Rera Village under Chief Madamombe in Chivi.
    She was diagnosed with diabetes way back in 1976.
    Mbuya Dzoro was 90.
    "I am deeply saddened by the loss of my mother, our family has suffered a great loss but I would like to thank all those who stood by us as a family when we needed their comfort, the list of those I would want to thank is endless but I would like to thank SDA churches from Chivi and Masvingo at large for their comfort during the bereavement, they really stood by the Dzoro family," said Dzoro.
    She was laid to rest at her homestead on Sunday this week where thousands of people from all walks of life thronged the village to pay their last respects to the woman who was known all over the village as a counselor and an ardent Seventh Day Adventist member since birth. 
     Minister of Foreign Affairs Walter Mzembi, Professor Rungano Zvobgo, Minister of State for Masvingo Province Minister Dr Paul Chimedza, Minister of Macro Economic Development Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Delta Corporation chairman Canaan Dube, Jadecon director Stanley Kondongwe, heads of Government departments, church leaders, business community, relatives and friends attended the burial.
    Mbuya Dzoro was born in the same family with the late prominent farmer and businessman Solomon Huruva Mukungunugwa. 
    Mbuya Dzoro is survived by nine children and 65 great grandchildren.
