    G40 members go into hiding as tables turn


    MASVINGO – All known G40 gurus in Masvingo switched off their phones on Wednesday and either went into hiding or just kept low as tables dramatically turned against them.
    The Mirror called those at the top echelons of G40 on their mobile phones and they were both not reachable and could not be found at their usual places including offices and homes.
    Amanasa Nhenjana, the acting chairman was not reachable from the time that the military action against Mugabe's Government unfolded on Tuesday afternoon. Youth chairman, Nobert Ndaarombe appeared to give his phone to someone to answer each time the call went through. However, the person stammered and pretended that he could not hear the person on the other end.
    Jappy Jaboon, the party's secretary for commissariat's phones were off and even messages could not go through. Jaboon was the king maker of the G40 in Masvingo.
    Mzembi who two weeks ago declared himself the most senior Zanu PF politician in Masvingo answered his phone when The Mirror called him but cut off the call when he realised that it was The Mirror calling. Speculation was abound about his whereabouts with some reports indicating that he migh be in South Africa.
    Tranos Huruva who is the secretary for labour and production did not answer his phone. The G40 which got numerous posts in Cabinet three weeks ago after a reshuffle had very short-lived celebrations.
