MURAMBINDA – Buhera Rural District Council (RDC) has begun constructing a 1,7km stretch of road at Murambinda Growth Point at a cost of $230 000.
This was confirmed by the RDC engineer, Patrick Chingwende.
Harare-based Talcourt Construction Company won the tender that was flighted in the national papers by the local authority last month.
Talcourt land surveyor, Josphat Mudzimu said he expected the tarring of the road to be completed within 40 days and work has been carried out for 10 days so far.
"I can confirm that Talcourt Construction won the tender and has promised their best services to Murambinda Growth Point by doing quality work and constructing the road within 40 days. Council budgeted $230 000 for the work," said Engineer Chingwende.
The 1,7km will go round Murambinda Growth Point Shops.  It will stretch from the Social Welfare building to Murambinda Mission Hospital and from Bata shop to Glow Petroleum Filling Station, said Mudzimu.
The road will also stretch to the Chivhu-Nyazura Highway.
Motorists welcomed the development but urged the construction company to ensure that it builds a good temporary road as the one being used now has some potholes.
