Mpandawana AFM pastor resigns, forms own church

GUTU – There has been a dramatic end to a feud that gripped AFM Mpandawana in Gutu in the last few months after Pastor Redius Mavhurama tendered his resignation two weeks ago and immediately formed his own church.
Posters are all over Gutu and on Kombis announcing the  birth of the new church which is called Emmanuel Ministries.
The church is being launched from September 29 to October 1 2017 at Mpandawana High School Grounds.
Mavhurama who has been accused of introducing Prophet Makandiwa doctrine into the AFM Church and of being frequently seen in the company of the latter has his picture and that of Makandiwa on his posters.
Efforts to get a comment from Mavhurama were fruitless as he is always said to be in the hills praying.
However, reliable sources said that Mavhurana tendered his resignation letter and a copy was sent to headoffice in Harare.
AFM Masvingo overseer, Donald Ndoni said he knew nothing about the developments and added that he could not comment because he was attending a funeral.
The Mirror understands that a new board for the church that comprise of Kunjeku Kunjeku and John Rwanyanya has since been put in place.
A reliable source close to Mavhurama said the pastor was different from AFM Church because he performs miracles.
"He performs miracles and has healing powers," said the source.
"Yes we go to the mountain every Tuesdays and Thursdays for praying and he (pastor) prophesies. We are behind him and we don't want him to stop making prophesies," said a follower.
Efforts to get Mavhurama's comment were not successful by the time of printing.local news
