    Bishop Bhasera to run Gweru Diocese


    HARARE – Bishop Michael Bhasera will run Gweru Diocese until a substantive bishop is found, Father Fredrick Chiromba the secretary general of the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishop's Conference has said.
    The appointment of Bishop Bhasera as the Apostolic Administrator of Gweru follows the death of Bishop Xavier Munyongani on Sunday last week.
    This means that Bishop Bhasera is going to run both his Masvingo Diocese and Gweru Diocese Father Chiromba said that the pronouncement was made by Pope Francis on Tuesday.
    "Today, 24 October 2017, His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed the Right Reverend Michael Dixon Bhasera, Bishop of Masvingo, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Gweru, sede vacante et admutum Sancatae Sedis," read the statement.
