    Zion Apostolic Faith Church Archbishop dies


    MWENEZI – Munyenyiwa Chiware Mabhena, a prominent Archbishop with the Zion Apostolic Faith Church (ZAFC) has died.
    He passed away last week on Monday at Mbire Village under Chief Mawarire after battling complications linked to old age.
    He was laid to rest at his rural home at Mbire village under chief Mawarire. He was 117 years old.
    Mabhena is the father of Councilor Samuel Mabhena of Ward 3 in Mwenezi East. 
    "Our father was a unifier whom the family depended on, he was a dedicated preacher who gave his life to God," said councillor Mabhena.
    Mabhena was survived by his three wives, 18 children, 96 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
    He was ordained archbishop in 1981 by Archbishop Gideon Nelson of Chile in Malawi.
    He was born on May 20, 1900 in Chivi district in a family of four and he was the only son.
